I think at the end of the day, the Pens are gonna have to take give a discount to the asking price for Fleury, especially if the deal doesn't get done before the season starts. He's always been a confidence goaltender, play well when he's confident, and I think all this trade talk and where he feels he's at in this career might hamper him going into next season when he's still second banana.

Why? we have basically 6 million in cap space (500k held in reserve) and need to sign 2 players by my count. Might even get some cap relief from a Malkin LTIR.

It would be nice to have the expansion draft rules so we can figure out how much pressure is on the pens. If we can expose Fleury in the draft its better to keep him otherwise it looks like we will lose Hornqvist to expansion.

How come that chart doesn't include leadership%? That's what makes Toews better than Crosby and Malkin.

Remember, Crosby and Malkin both don't show up in the playoffs like Toews does. Plus, he has 1 more Cup than both of them.

When I made the 6 mil calculation it included trading Fleury. It was ~2 mil with fleury on the roster, Bennett qualified at 800k and no additional d men signed. We need more than 1.8 mil of cap space this offseason for d depth purposes
